Summer Solstice is arrinving and “San Juan´s” night is the begining of a lot of outdoor activities and you can enjoy a great variety.

It is the preferred season for millions of tourists to visit and enjoy a well-deserved vacation in our paradise

Saint John´s night, on 23 June, is a festival of pagan origin in which fire was lit at the same time as the solstice to purify and give strength to the sun.
This night is celebrated throughout Spain, especially on the coast, where it is a tradition to light small bonfires on the beach. One of the most common traditions is to write your wishes on a paper and then burn them and jump over the bonfires. The fireworks at night put an end to this celebration.
In summer it is the time with the greatest influx of tourists searching sun and beach as well as enjoying nautical and aquatic activities such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, diving, kayak, trips. At night, a great cultural, gastronomic and leisure variety that you should not miss.

Es Carbó Beach.

It is a paradisiacal beach, isolated and kilometers long with white sand; Located to the south of Colonia de Sant Jordi, near the Ses Salines lighthouse. It is one of the most southerly beaches on the island of Majorca. From the beach you will enjoy the view of various islets, the islet of Na Molina is just in front of the sandbank. Farther away you will see the island of Cabrera.

It is not a crowded beach since to get to it from the parking area you have to walk for about 20 minutes. The best option is to rent an inflatable boat from Colonia de Sant Jordi on the Marqués beach and arrive along the coast. Be careful because the draft is very shallow and don’t leave the propellers on the rocks, although since the water is so crystalline you can see the depth perfectly and raising the engine a little is enough.

Cala Mesquida.

It is one of the most beautiful places of Majorca,
you can swim in its crystalline waters and lye on its white sand, it has a protected area of dunes and enjoy the bust Sunset. It is located 7 km from Capdepera.

Playa del Coll Baix.

It is not easy to access but it is worth the effort.turquoise waters and cliffs that protect you is a beach with little influx of people to share this paradise with. It is located 8 km from Alcudia

Sa Canova Beach.

If you enjoy to practice windsurf you shouldn´t miss to visit this beach with turquoise and cristal waters. It is located 11 km from Can Picafort

It is the longest beach in Majorca, you can swim in turquoise and crystal waters, spot the island of Cabrera, a paradise in a natural park or protected area, in a privileged environment. If you want to sail to Cabrera you have to book before permisos especiales request a buoy since you cannot anchor. There are quite significant penalties.If you want to make easier you can book a trip in Colonia de Sant Jordi. Es Trenc beach is one of the few nudists we have in Majorca.

Cala Mondragó.

Since 1992 Cala Mondrago is a protected area. It is located in Santanyi. Don´t miss to discover this paradise with its routes.

Cala Deià.

Its not easy to arrive it but when you´ll be there you understand it. Stone beach with turquoise and crystal waters and fantastic to practice snorkel. I don´t recommend you to visit in July and August because you can´t enjoy the peace. It´s better to visit in autumn and spring. Don´t forget your water shoes.

White sand and turquoise, crystals waters. It is the most beautiful beach in the island but its very difficult to drive there. The best option is to organise a boat trip from Puerto Pollensa or with the bus because is not allowed to drive there Summer Time.During autumn winter and spring we can drive to Faro de Formentor and enjoy espectacular sunsets.

Playa de Sa Calobra.

In the Heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana you´ll enjoy to visit small Calas, Cala Deia, Puerto de Valldemosa, Sa Calobra.
From Soller or Lluc you can drive by a mountain road and arrive there, enjoy the natural and spectacular landscape that will surely impress you, although you can also access it from Soller on a boat trip.
From Sa Calobra beach there is a 300-meter pedestrian walkway that runs between two cliffs, and after going through a narrow tunnel that will take you to the mouth of the Torrent del Pareis.

All of these are my favourite places in the island and now it´s time to enjoy the different Summer Fest.

 Town patron saint festivities calendar.

23rd and 24th June Noche de San Juan Palma.Many Majorcan move to Menorca to enjoy its Fest and its traditional jaleos.
29th June Fiesta de San Pedro en Puerto de Alcudia. Held in the week of June 29, highlights
by the traditional maritime procession where the decorated boats set sail to accompany the image of the saint
Festes de Sa Rapita del 14 al 28 de July. Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen patron saint of sailors.
Festes de Colonia de Sant Jordi del 20 de July al 10 de August
Festa de Sant Jaume a Alcudia 25th July. We must highlight the Roman festival, a festival that recalls the Roman origins of the city and in which attendees are invited to dress in white tunics in the style of classical Rome.
Festes de Pollensa. La Patrona. 2 de August. It is worth noting l’Alborada, which was performed for the first time in 1882. The entire population takes to the streets dressed in white for their party. Another activity to highlight is the battle of Moors and Christians. Basically, it is about the victory of the Christians over the Moors who, on the night of May 30-31, 1550, attacked the town of Pollença.
Festes de Ca’n Picafort. From first til 15th August with a concert in the Beach Nit de l’Auba.
Festes des Vermar en Binissalem. the last 10 days of September .Binissalem has a long tradition and wine culture. Every year, when the grape harvest ends, it celebrates a great festival that you cannot miss, neither the grape battle, the grape ¨trepitjadors¨ contest, or at night to taste the traditional “fideus de vermar”.
